Registration Factsheet: Purpose of Beekeeper Registration
There are three different types of registration:
New Registrations & Registration Renewals - Applications in 2021 or After
Please follow the instructions below to apply for a new beekeeper license or renew your existing license (applications in 2021 and after). You must use a desktop or laptop computer. The online registration system is not intended for use on a phone or tablet.

To apply for a new beekeeper license:
- Go to https://udafdms.utah.gov
- Click on ‘Login with Utahid’ in the top right corner
- If this is your first time using Utahid, you will need to create an Utahid account and follow the steps.
- After creating an account, select either an Individual account or a Company.
- Once an account is created, go to the account home page. From there, click on ‘Licenses & Permits” at the top.
- On the ‘My Licenses/Permits’ page, click on the ‘New License/Permit’ button.
- Select which license you want to apply for (beekeeper licenses begin with 1201) and click on ‘Select’.
- From there, complete the application and either pay with a credit card or echeck online, or choose the offline payment option if paying by mail, or come into the state agriculture office and pay by cash, check or money order.
To renew your existing beekeeper license (applications in 2021 - current):
- Go to https://udafdms.utah.gov
- Click on ‘Login with Utahid’ in the top right corner.
- Log in with your Utahid.
- Click on "Renewals" at the top of the page.
- Select the license you want to renew by selecting the check box on the left.
- Click on the "add to cart" button on the right.
- Click on the cart icon on the top right corner of the page. Select the license you would like to pay for by selecting the checkbox on the left, then click "Pay". You can choose whether to pay by card, echeck, or offline payment.
To view and download your license, log into udafdms.utah.gov using your Utahid. Once logged in, select "Licenses & Permits" at the top of the page, your license number and information will be displayed. You may click the pdf icon to download a PDF of your license.

Registration Renewals - Applications in 2020 and Earlier
If you do NOT know your beekeeper license number, email JaNae Christensen at [email protected] for assistance.
Youth Non-Profit Registration
Youth non-profit groups are eligible for a 1202 Beekeeper License, which has no fee. This license can be completed online, follow the instructions below. You must use a desktop or laptop computer. The online registration system is not intended for use on a phone or tablet.
To apply for a new youth non-profit beekeeper license:
- Go to https://udafdms.utah.gov
- Click on ‘Login with Utahid’ in the top right corner
- If this is your first time using Utahid, you will need to create an Utahid account and follow the steps.
- After creating an account, select either an Individual account or a Company.
- Once an account is created, go to the account home page. From there, click on ‘Licenses & Permits” at the top.
- On the ‘My Licenses/Permits’ page, click on the ‘New License/Permit’ button.
- Select the which license you want to apply for (1202 As A Beekeeper Non-Profit Youth Group) and click on ‘Select’.
- From there, complete the application. There is no payment required, so the license will be automatically approved.
To renew your existing youth non-profit group beekeeper license (applications in 2021 - current):
- Go to https://udafdms.utah.gov
- Click on ‘Login with Utahid’ in the top right corner
- Log in with your Utahid
- Click on "Renewals" at the top of the page
- Select the license you want to renew by selecting the check box on the left.
- Click on "add to cart" button on the right.
- Click on the cart icon on the top right corner of the page. Select the license you would like to pay for by selecting the check box on the left, then click "Pay". There is no fee for this license type, so the license will be automatically approved.
