The Spotted Wing Drosophila has been discovered in Utah. The SWD is a form of fruit fly and can be easily controlled by commercial and backyard fruit growers.

Safe Eggs. The nation recently went through a major recall of eggs because of possible Salmonella contamination.
Utah eggs were not part of that recall. One reason is that our egg producers and food safety regulators work together to make sure egg farms take specific steps to keep salmonella and other diseases out.
