UDAF offers food labeling review to help manufacturers, producers, and distributors understand and comply with labeling laws and rules to ensure products offered for sale in the State will be completely and correctly labeled.
This page includes information about labeling for commercial foods. If you are looking for labeling guidelines for home produced foods, see the following pages: Cottage Foods or Home Consumption and Homemade Food Act.
How the commercial food labeling review process works:
All food products that are packaged must be completely and correctly labeled before being offered for sale. Utah manufacturers and producers can make a proof of their labels and send them in to be reviewed before having them printed. This review is strongly encouraged and may be required depending on the food product and the plan review process.
When labels are received, they are reviewed as quickly as time permits.
