Utah Conservation Commission

Conservation
The purpose of the Utah Conservation Commission (UCC) is to facilitate the development and implementation of strategies and programs necessary to protect and conserve the soil, water, and air resources of the state, while promoting the protection, integrity, and restoration of land for agricultural and other beneficial uses.

UCC Oversight

The UCC oversees the programs housed in the Conservation Division at the Utah Department of Agriculture and food. These programs include:

  • The Agricultural Water Optimization Program
  • The Agricultural Voluntary Incentive Program
  • The Agricultural Resource Development Loan Program
  • The Emergency Resource Development Loan Program

UCC Board Members

The Utah Conservation Consists of 12 voting members and is chaired by the Commissioner of Agriculture. These members include:

  • The Director of Extension Service at Utah State University
  • The Executive Director of the Department of Environmental Quality
  • The Executive Director of the Department of Natural Resources
  • The President of the County Weed Supervisors Association
  • The Commissioner of Agriculture
  • Seven Conservation District Supervisors, each representing their respective Zone.
