• The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF), in cooperation with the Division of Water Quality (DWQ), started AgVIP to help farming operations develop a conservation plan for their property and begin to implement practices that will improve crop yields, build soil health, and protect water quality. Participants in the Voluntary Agricultural Incentive Program will be able to work with conservation planners from UDAF to discuss their agricultural operation, complete an annual conservation assessment, explore new practices suited to their operation, and receive a comprehensive, customized conservation plan.

• The Invasive Species Mitigation Weed Control Grant is intended to fund weed control projects with a high probability of success in the State of Utah.
• Eligible projects include early detection & rapid response; critical treatment for larger area protection; monitoring, prevention, and rehabilitation; and research related to invasive species.
• Projects will be funded for the current year with the possibility of renewing funding for multi-year projects.

• This program uses money appropriated by the Legislature to fund the purchase of conservation easements on working farm and ranch lands.

• The Salinity Control Program is a cooperative program with Utah Department of Environmental Quality, agricultural producers, Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program Forum, and mining companies which discharge salts into the Colorado River Basin. This program allows mining companies to maintain production even when they are discharging too much (greater than 1 ton/day) salt into the basin by having them pay for irrigation systems which reduce salinity.

• Eligible applicants include producers, schools, trade associations, non-profits, farmers markets, farming and ranching co-ops, etc. headquartered in Utah.
• Eligible projects must benefit more than one producer or organization and may include a broad range of focus such as improving marketing, research, training, certifications, plant health, etc. for specialty crops.
