Find an Apiary Veterinarian
Below is a list of licensed veterinarians who have indicated they are willing to work with beekeepers to acquire necessary antibiotics. To issue antibiotics whether by prescription or VFD, the veterinarian and the beekeeper must have a valid Veterinarian Client Patient Relationship. The inclusion of an individual on this list is not an endorsement by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. This list is not guaranteed to be up-to-date or comprehensive of all bee-friendly veterinarians in the state.
Registered beekeepers who are unable to reach any of these veterinarians and need antibiotic intervention for their hive(s) may contact (801) 982-2235 or [email protected] to request a Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) from a department veterinarian, following apiary inspection by a county or state bee inspector and diagnostic confirmation through the UDAF Entomology Lab. Please note that there is a $250 fee for obtaining a VFD through department veterinarians.
