Cannabinoid Product Registration
Industrial Hemp
In order to be sold or marketed in Utah, a cannabinoid product must be registered annually with UDAF.
Please see theย Registered Products Listย for all currently registered products.
Industrial hemp products that do not contain any cannabinoids are not required to be registered.

- Login to your account
- Click Industrial Hemp
- Click Product Registration
- Fill out application
- NOTE: one application is required per cannabinoid product or cannabinoid product class
The following is required as part of the application
- Cannabinoid profile certificate of analysis (COA) performed by UDAFโs Analytical Lab
- A full panel COA which may be performed by any third-party lab

- A product label for each product

- NOTE: UDAF may request additional information from the applicant if material submitted in the application is not sufficient for approval
Applicants will be notified of approval or denial via email
- If the product is the product will be added to our Registered Products List
To update product registration after submission
- Visitย Agricultural Information Management System (AIMS)ย and login to your account
- Click Industrial Hemp
- Click Product Registration
- Select Change Request as application type
- Select product that you would like to update
- Fill out Change Request application
- For substantial changes, a new product registration may be required
Additional Information
How long is product registration good for?
- Product registration is valid for one calendar year from the date of approval
- A new registration is required every year for each registered product
Product types that are NOT allowed:
- Smokeable flower
- Products considered appealing to children
- Cannot have mascots, fictional characters, or cartoon characters
- Cannot mimic products that are usually marketed to children
- Conventional food or beverages
- Gummies are permitted if they are not shaped like characters or animals
- Liquid suspensions of 2 ounces or less are permitted
- Products that have a combined concentration of total THC and any THC analog exceeding 0.3% on a dry weight basis
- Products that contain a combined amount of total THC and any THC analog exceeding 10% of the total cannabinoid content
- Products that have a total of THC and any THC analog that is greater than: 5 milligrams per serving; and 150 milligrams per package

Is the milligram per serving and per package limit for all cannabinoids?
- No, the milligram per serving and package limits apply only to THC and THC analogs.
