All organic renewal documents and associated fees are due on Thursday, 1 February 2024, no later. Failure to comply with this date may affect or delay your application renewal process and will result in a $100 fine for all applications received after the due date. The Organic Application Renewal Form is to be filled out for the 2024 certification year, which is required to be filled out in its entirety and submitted for continued certification with all applicable supporting documents submitted.
The Organics Program now has an online customer portal to serve our customers and assist with the process of continuing certification with UDAF. All the forms and supporting documents are captured within the digital system for your convenience.
Information to be submitted is as follows, but not limited to:
-
-
- Organic Certification Renewal Form
- Application Fee
- Gross Sales Fee (organic gross sales report or verification document(s) required)
- Inspection Fee (if not paid)
- Any updates to Organic System Plan (OSP)
- Supporting OSP Documents
-
Supporting OSP documents or additional documentation that should be submitted would include any changes and updates that are to be made to your current OSP. On the Organic System Plan page, you will find a link to document NOP 2615 Organic System Plans, Organic System Plan Updates, and Notification of Changes (Effective Date: December 16, 2013) and excerpts that will give you further information regarding when to submit updates to your OSP. It is important to note within the document what must be submitted with the annual update and what notification of changes must be submitted prior to the change taking place (at any point throughout the year), through an Application Change Request.
All applicants and certified organic producers must maintain and submit a current Organic System Plan (OSP). Click here to learn more.
To Surrender Organic Certification:
For a certified organic producer to surrender their organic certification with UDAF’s Organic Program in good standing, the following items should be addressed. Lack of timely application is insufficient action to notify UDAF of voluntary termination of certification.
-
- A letter, on official letterhead, stating the intent to surrender the organic certification; with a signed and dated acknowledgment of intent to surrender documenting written confirmation of account status.
- Mail the most current original organic certificate received (a scanned or digital copy will not suffice) to our office. If you cannot obtain the organic certificate and it is not in your possession, please state that within the notification email.
