Weston Judd is the State Chemist and Laboratory Division Director at the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. The Laboratory Division performs chemical and microbiological analyses of various agricultural and food products as part of the regulatory function of the Department.
Weston is also engaged in efforts toward implementing Utah’s cannabis programs, with a focus on developing robust, accurate laboratory testing methods to ensure safe and accurately labeled cannabis products.
Prior to his position at UDAF, Weston worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medicinal Chemist in anticancer drug discovery research.
Weston holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Utah State University and a Ph.D. in Medicinal/Organic Chemistry from the University of Kansas.
