License Renewal Information

IMPORTANT RENEWAL INFORMATION FOR PESTICIDE RENEWALS:

Due to the license extension from the pandemic, there have been issues in understanding what is going on with the renewals for this year. Please find the section of the directions that pertain to you and follow as needed. Our goal at UDAf is to limit person-to-person contact during the renewal process. All assistance in that goal will be greatly appreciated!

4000 COMMERCIAL PESTICIDE BUSINESS & RUP DEALER’S LICENSES:

You MUST submit an application form in order to renew your license. Simply making a payment does not renew the license. If you are a Commercial Pesticide Business you can download our renewal form here and send it to udaf-pestice@utah.gov. If you are a RUP dealer and need to renew click here.

PESTICIDE APPLICATORS WHO EXPIRED AT THE END OF 2019:

Even though your license expiration date was extended, the CEU renewal period was not. You cannot renew with CEU’s. You can only retake the test to renew your license, and your new expiration date will still be 2022 due to the free year given to you from the expiration extension.

PESTICIDE APPLICATORS EXPIRING AT THE END OF 2020:

Due to COVID provisions and accommodations making it difficult to obtain CEUs, we will accept 24 CEUs in any category (meaning, if you are short a few in Safety or Law but still have 24, we will renew your license). However, you still need to have 24 CEUs, and they MUST be earned between the years 2018-2020. Any earned before that time period WILL NOT be accepted. There will not be a CEU renewal extension. If you intend to renew with CEUs, you must still submit all certificates to UDAF by the end of the year or before March 1st with a late fee. You cannot earn CEUs after your license expires and submit them for renewal.

Not Enough CEU’s?

If you do not have enough CEUs and don’t anticipate receiving enough by the end of the year, you can retake the test. You can find testing instructions on our home page under the “Obtaining/Renewing a Pesticide Applicator’s” tab or, on the right side of this page. There is not a late fee when renewing your license by taking the test after it has expired.

How to send in your CEU’s

All CEU renewals must be sent to udaf-pesticide@utah.gov. Due to the limited number of staff working on location at some of the state offices and the intent of the governor to limit public interaction when possible, CEUs are only to be submitted electronically or by regular mail.
