Conservation Loans

This program serves as a loan of last resort, offering financing to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural cooperatives who are unable to secure financing from conventional sources. These funds are used to support farm stability and growth mainly through farm and rangeland acquisition and debt restructuring.

Loan Information

  • Low interest rate.
  • 10-year terms, renewable with Board approval.
  • Up to 30-year payment amortization.
  • Loan-to-value maximums: 60% for purchases, 70% for debt restructure.

How to Apply

  • Contact UDAF loan staff directly to apply.

  • Submit required application and supporting documentation to loan staff.

  • Submit required financial information.

  • Work with loan staff throughout the financial review and underwriting process.

  • Loan staff will present a recommendation to the Utah Agriculture Advisory Board.

  • Board approval.

  • Upon approval by the Board, loan staff will prepare final closing documents, secure the collateral, and disburse funds to the appropriate recipients.
