Links to water-saving tips for homeowners, farmers, and ranchers. The Utah Department
of Agriculture and Food has two loan
programs designed for farmers or ranchers. The ARDL program is designed
for eligible conservation projects. The Rural Rehab Loan program is
designed for refinancing troubled debt which could have been caused
by drought or other problems. The Utah Board of
Water Resources has low and no interest
loans. It will give priority to "those" with drought related
water problems. Remember the Board can provide loans for (clean) water
projects. That would be to communities, irrigation companies, and water
districts (political subdivisions). Applications and a description of
the application process is available on line at http://www.water.utah.gov. The Utah Drinking
Water Board has $2,500,000 per year in state funds for low
interest loans and grants, and $6,000,000 per year in federal funds
for the same. The loans and grants (primarily loans) are for projects
for public drinking water systems in the state to fund well/spring/surface
water development, treatment, and distribution system costs. The Utah Water Quality
Board approves low-interest loans
to communities for wastewater projects, which typically include treatment
and reuse of wastewater. The Community Impact Board provides loans and grants to subdivisions of the state impacted by natural resource development on federal lands. Assistance is limited to 1) planning, 2) the construction and maintenance of public facilities, and 3) the provision of public services. Indian tribes, individuals, corporations, associations, private non-profit organizations are not eligible for financing from the CIB. USDA Disaster Assistance
