Animal Industry Division Reorganized Following Medical Leave Taken by State Veterinarian

Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food, Leonard M. Blackham announces the reorganization of the Division of Animal Industry following a medical leave of absence taken by State Veterinarian, Dr. Michael R. Marshall.
The following administrative changes take effect immediately: Terry Menlove is appointed Acting Division Director and will continue to oversee the Brands Bureau. Dr. Earl Rogers is appointed Acting State Veterinarian and Director of the Meat Inspection Program. Richard Lohmeyer is appointed Acting Meat Inspection Program Manager. The changes take effect immediately, and will remain in place for at least 90 days.
“It appears that Dr. Marshall will be away from the Department for some time, and in the interest of the division’s continuity I feel it necessary to make these changes,” said Commissioner Blackham. “We certainly wish Dr. Marshall the best.” he added.
Prior to his appointment as director, Terry Menlove was Animal Industry’s Brands Bureau Chief, and has been with the Department since 1978. Dr. Rogers was previously the Division’s Assistant State Veterinarian, and has been with the Department since 1990. Richard Lohmeyer was previously the Assistant Manager of the Meat Inspection Program, and has been with the Department since 1976.
