Utah’s Own Acreage Enhancement
Pilot Grant Program

UDAF is encouraging Utah farmers and other stakeholders to apply for grants to help them grow more vegetables in Utah. The Utah’s Own Acreage Enhancement Pilot Grant Program will be awarding a total of $10,000 to five Utah farmers to help them expand the number of acres under vegetable production.

“There is a growing market for more Utah-grown vegetables in the state,” said Richard Sparks, UDAF’s Deputy Marketing Director. “These grants are intended to help farmers plant more acres of high quality vegetables that will eventually carry the Utah’s Own logo,” he added.

The application deadline is March 31st, 2007.

Information on how to make an application is available online or by contacting Richard Sparks at: rsparks@utah.gov, (801) 538-4913.
