The Utah Apiary Program provides health certificates free of charge for commercial beekeepers needing to transport bees to other states. These certificates are issued after inspection and verify to states of  destination that colonies are free of American foulbrood (Paenibacillus larvae), red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) and small hive beetle (Aethina tumida). To request an inspection for a health  certificate, please contact your state or county bee inspector.

APHIS National Honey Bee Health Survey

UDAF participates in a national survey of honey bee health. The objective of this survey is to monitor for exotic honey bee pests and evaluate overall health of honey bees. Participants in the survey will receive a health report, which includes viral diagnostics, Nosema testing and Varroa counts.  This survey is open to all beekeepers with eight or more hives in a single location. Please contact a state inspector if you are interested in participating.
