African Bee Information
African Bee Colonies Expand in Southern Utah
Inspectors find 44 colonies since January of 2009.
Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) has detected the presence of the Africanized Honey Bee (AHB) in Iron, Washington and Kane Counties of Southern Utah. The hives containing the AHB are being destroyed and there have been no reported incidents of attacks on humans or animals. We encourage residents to approach all bees with caution and respect.
