China Trade Mission Creates Future Opportunities for Utah Farmers & Ranchers

Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food (UDAF), Leonard Blackham, joined 12 other Western states' agriculture leaders for a June 13 to 19 trade mission to China.

Accompanying Commissioner Blackham was UDAF's Marketing Director, Jed Christiansen. The visit allowed state Ag. leaders to tour a food import/export inspection facility in the coastal city of Zhuhai. The 20-acre complex is also designed to help sell more high-value goods such as steak and wine to an expanding Chinese middle class

The facility is to be run by Oregon State University.
