Livestock Fraud Charges Brought Against Lewiston Man
Salt Lake City – State livestock investigators filed three communications fraud charges against a Lewiston, Utah man in connection with the writing of $28,400 in bad checks for the purchase of 42 cows earlier this year from the Westside Dairy in Delta, Utah. The cows were transported and sold in Idaho a short time later.
According to Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) Livestock Theft Investigator, John Kimball, 47 year old Marty O. Mickelson of Lewiston purchased 42 head of cattle in Millard County, in February knowing he had insufficient funds to cover the transaction. Mickelson also operated as a livestock dealer without a license.
Kimball arrested and charged Mickelson with the three 2nd degree felonies March 22 in Cache County.
Mickelson is out of jail on bail awaiting arraignment on the charges.
