(Salt Lake City) – Utah Department of Agriculture and Food Commissioner, LuAnn Adams, issued the following statement today regarding the House of Representatives’ vote on the Farm Bill:
“The Utah Department of Agriculture is disappointed that the House of Representatives failed to advance the Farm Bill today.
“The farmers of Utah (and the nation) significantly impact the health and well-being of every citizen and are an iconic symbol of industry our state is known for. Delayed passage in funding also jeopardizes the balance of our economy, and the livelihood of our growers and produces.
“We urge the House to re-group and work with the Senate to resolve the issues preventing passage of this critical funding.”
