Another Day In The Life of Utah Agriculture
A photo project documenting Utah Agriculture
(Salt Lake City) Commissioner of Agriculture and Food, LuAnn Adams, is challenging all Utah farmers and ranchers once again to celebrate National Agriculture Day, March 15, 2016 by taking a snapshot of their farm or ranch, to document the many aspects of Utah agriculture.
This Day-In-The-Life of Utah Agriculture project is intended to record the typical activities of farm and ranch life in Utah on this special day of the year.
“Once again we want to celebrate and document the hard work that our Utah family farms and ranches perform each day,” said Agriculture and Food Commissioner LuAnn Adams. “I know it is hard work growing our food. But I hope our farmers and ranchers can take a quick timeout to capture a glimpse of what they do on this special day,” Adams added.
This is the second year in a row the State is gathering photos to honor Utah’s farming and ranching community.
The photos will be assembled in an online album to be published before the end of April. The photos will also be considered for reproduction and display in the Department’s main office building in Salt Lake City. Last year’s photos have been on the Department’s Facebook page under photos and albums, and can be viewed at: www.facebook.com/utahagriculture. Or at: http://on.fb.me/1ReXGOj
Photos can be from a cell phone, digital SLR or film camera.
This is not a contest. You are already winners just being in agriculture! Every usable photo will be included in the album. Include a sentence or two describing the photo, who took the photo, and your farm/ranch’s name.
Photo ideas include but are not limited to: milking cows, moving equipment, any aspect of calving or lambing, any aspect of life with livestock, mechanical repair, family members and activities on the farm, children helping out, poultry, farmlife, production agriculture, small farm agriculture, soil preparation, planting, irrigation, roadside fruit/vegetable stands, farmers markets, and etc. Any photo during the 24 hours of March 15 is eligible.
