Former Deputy Commissioner Edison J. Stephens Passes Away

(Salt Lake City) Former Deputy Commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture, Edison J. Stephens passed away on Saturday, August 17th. Stephens was a great friend and advocate for agriculture. Stephens served under Utah Agriculture Commissioner Miles “Cap” Ferry and Governor Norm Bangerter. Stephens also served in the Utah House of Representative from 1971 to 1977 and in the Senate in 1978. Stephens is the father of current Deputy Commissioner, Kyle R. Stephens.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by his funeral on Thursday, August 22nd, at noon. Both will be located at the LDS Chapel in Henefer, Utah.
