UDAF Urges Horse Owners to Have their Animals Fully Vaccinated

A recent case of rabies found in a horse in Arizona is a good reminder to all horse owners in Utah to make sure all your equine vaccinations are current, to include rabies vaccination.

A good core vaccination program should be tailored for your horses based on use and risk of exposure.  Your veterinarian will be able to assist in developing a basic vaccination schedule.

Vaccinations are a relatively safe and inexpensive way to assist in keeping your horses healthy, give your horses immunity to many preventable equine diseases if you compete, associate with other horses, or travel with your horse, thus preventing the potential spread of equine diseases.
