Marketing and Promotion
The mission of the Division of Marketing and Development is to raise the awareness of Utah agriculture and food products and enhance local, domestic and international marketing opportunities. Promotional efforts focus on connecting Utah agricultural and food producers with consumers to expand existing and create new local marketing opportunities. The Division assists companies in identifying available resources and developing marketing strategies. Programs are geared to develop value added opportunities to assist in the economic development of production agriculture and rural communities. When appropriate, the Division coordinates efforts with the Governor's Office of Economic Development and Rural Partnership Board.
As members of the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) and the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), the Division assists food companies in identifying opportunities and strategies for international marketing. The Division promotes participation in international food shows to introduce Utah's high quality food and agricultural products to the world.
The desired results of the Division efforts are to increase profitability for agriculture and related business; and, create and sustain a vibrant and healthy rural economy.
