Elk ownership inspection is required:

• Before moving the elk off the farm - for sale, movement out of state, transfer to new facility, or slaughter (see exception below)
• Horns - inspection is required before transporting off farm

Elk ownership inspection is not required:

• If moving elk to secondary pasture within 10 miles of main farm

Elk - Change of Ownership	$5.00	+ $15.00 per trip if inspector travels to you
Elk - Transfer to New Facility	$5.00	+ $15.00 per trip if inspector travels to you
Elk - To Slaughter	$5.00	+ $15.00 per trip if inspector travels to you
Elk - Moving or Selling Horns	$1.00	+ $15.00 per trip if inspector travels to you
Minimum Charge per Certificate	$15.00	---

Please call your local Brand Inspector at least 24 hours in advance to schedule an inspection. Brand inspections are conducted only during daylight hours.

Transportation Rule - Owner/Transporter must have an official Brand Inspection Certificate or other proof of ownership in his/her possession.
